Introducing this exceptional 1996 Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R, proudly offered by JapImportsUK. Built around a fully forged and stroked 2.8L RB26DETT, this example represents a true period-correct high-performance build using some of the most respected components available. Featuring the HKS 2.8L stroker kit, Step 2 camshafts, and T51R turbocharger, it delivers serious performance while maintaining excellent reliability. Originally built at DANDY Motorsport in Tokyo, the car later moved to FNATZ Tokyo well known for building cars for Daigo Saito. Ongoing maintenance has been carried out by Jindaiji Jidosha (formerly Abe-san’s workshop from Blitz), aswell as Scorch Racing and Meguro.
The interior has been tastefully configured for both road and circuit use, featuring a Personal steering wheel, roll cage with door bars, and a suite of period-correct electronics including an HKS EVC and HKS Circuit Attack Counter. Blitz and Greddy gauges provide essential engine data, with an electronic torque split system. Subtle upgrades such as red-stitched gaiters, aftermarket mats, and LED boot lighting complete a purposeful yet refined interior suited to both spirited driving and everyday usability.
Externally, the car retains a clean and understated appearance, sitting on 18" Rays Volk wheels and benefitting from a well-sorted chassis setup. Ohlins coilovers, Nismo rear suspension bushes and arms, Cusco camber arms, and a rear HICAS delete kit all contribute to sharper handling and improved control. Braking performance is upgraded with Endless discs and F50 calipers. Nismo exterior enhancements—including front lip, headlights, grille badge, and heritage rear wiper—are complemented by an N1 dry carbon rear spoiler and carbon exhaust heat shield, maintaining a subtle motorsport aesthetic.
At its core is a fully forged RB26DETT stroked to 2.8L using a “Dandy Style Kit” combination of HKS, JUN, and Trust components, supported by a comprehensive fuel and cooling system upgrade. Power is delivered through an ATS carbon triple-plate clutch, ensuring the drivetrain matches the engine’s capability. The car has been maintained to a high standard in Japan using Wako and Motul oils, and will be supplied with a Link G4X ECU for modern engine management and reliability. Featured in Option magazine (July 2006) and Club Skyline (April 2000), and supplied with rear seats and a Nismo rear ornament (not fitted), this is an exceptionally clean and well-documented R33 GT-R with genuine tuning pedigree.
